Daugerdas's commitment to academic excellence started early. He completed his high school education with honors at St. Laurence High School in Burbank, Illinois, in 1968. He then pursued higher education at De Paul University, achieving remarkable milestones. In 1972, he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Commerce with honors from De Paul University's College of Commerce. He also earned his CPA Certificate from the University of Illinois the same year. Continuing his academic journey, he earned a Juris Doctor degree with honors, cum laude, from De Paul University's College of Law in 1974.

Career History

 

Numerous significant roles in esteemed financial, legal, and accounting organizations mark Daugerdas's professional journey. He began his career as an Arthur Andersen & Co. staff member, gradually advancing to the manager position and becoming a partner in 1984. During his tenure from 1974 to 1994, he held various key positions. His expertise in mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations led him to join the Mergers, Acquisitions & Reorganizations Tax Specialty Team. As the Head of the Central Region Financial Markets Team, he oversaw tax and audit personnel involved in various financial markets, including commodities, futures, stocks, bonds, swaps, and various over-the-counter financial instruments and products. He also served as the Head of the Chicago Office "On Call" Team. They were a Financial Valuation Services Specialty Team member during his tenure at Arthur Andersen & Co.

In 1994, Paul Daugerdas joined the Law Offices of Altheimer & Gray as a partner, assuming the Head of the Tax Department role and becoming an invaluable member of the Steering Committee. From 1999 to 2002, he served as a Shareholder/Partner at the Law Offices of Jenkens & Gilchrist, where he managed the Chicago office and co-directed the Tax Practice. He further showcased his business acumen as a member of the Management Advisory Committee during his time at Jenkens & Gilchrist.

Involvement in Charity

 

In addition to his professional achievements, Daugerdas has made significant contributions to charitable causes. One notable organization he actively supported is The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northern Illinois. He served as the Chairman and President of the foundation in 2002 and 2003, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of children facing critical illnesses. He also assumed various roles within the foundation from 1996 to 2008, including Board Member, Treasurer, Finance Committee Member, and Wish Granter. His dedication to philanthropy extends beyond The Make-A-Wish Foundation, as he has been a frequent contributor to various charities, including museums and civic organizations, since the mid-1970s.
